German Aviatrix in the Opium Den: warning: Adult i
Inspired by the intrepid explorations and exploits of German pre war female aviatrixes such as Elly Beinhorn and Amelia Beese, this photo shoot shows our new tweed and fur jacket.
While the jacket is inspired by the style of Baron Von Richtofen, and has a pre WWII German Cross in dyed nutria armband and collar, there is no Nazi sympathy here: on the contrary; many of these female aviatrixes were anti Nazi and were inspired by the decadence of the native peoples they visited.
Our model, Eliza Kensington, studying a Geography based PHd is also well travelled among indigenous peoples herself; and all the props used here from opium pipes and scales to Tibetan carved frame and Sami reindeer fur, are hers.
So this jacket and shoot is a tribute to the spirit of the adventurer and the pre war Prussian chivalry, decadence and female educational achievement that the Nazis despised.
Its Von Richtofen meets Mata Hari meets Elly Beinhorn in the Opium Den.
These jackets are steeped in tradition and style of the tweed/leather/fur outfits of the edwardian and twenties periods as worn by British and Prussian aristocrats and adventurers; with fetish edge.
