Ladies Tweed: suits jackets skirts

The New Romantic Gothic Spirit cut with neo classic finesse.
The PonyGurl couture corset back suit; so typically Scottish tweed inspired by the palette of castle walls, deep loch reflecting forboding skies, and the deep burgundy of autumn leaves.

Skirt £120
Ensemble £995
And the spirit of the woman who takes up the suit will reflect this too but with a new sharpness inspired by anger and injustice.

In these islands that belong to the Celts a war of attrition has been fought the last twelve years against those who have no connection with it. As We have seen 60% of Brtish songbirds die and prepare to see more fall to the spectre of wind farms and bio crops. This is not the way of the celtic cultures, nor the arstocratic landowner descended from the fair minded normans who learned from us. Without the Hunt we are nothing and the land will go to seed; sowing oblivion for stag fox salmon hedgehog and hare alike.
Already the British government under New Labour has exterminated a fine meat animal out of existence which in Poland for example is managed on wetlands and used to produce beautiful furs and wonderful meat: the coypu. This animal produces nutria fur which we have used in our collection.
And if it were not for the dillgnce and hope and fight of the Hunts all around Britain we would already be seeing the end of the fox whose habitat they protect. When the Nazis banned foxhuntng in the former Czechoslovakia which was the meeting ground of all the European Hunts, more "humane" methods were used to control them rather than the traditional use of a natural enemy. Within a few short years the fox was effecively extinct there.
Without the fine traditions of land management practised by celtic rural peoples and learned landowning gentry the country falls.

But Britain's green and pleasant land will not fall; for this government and their urban jackboot will be rejected by the electorate because like they have swindled us of our rural heritage they have also mismanaged the economy.

To do anything without due respect for tradition is irresponsible.
The riders in pink shall return and with them the PonyGurl will walk tall and ride high in the saddle. No corporate ill fitting polyester suit will ever touch her fair skin; no cheap chain store tat made from child labour and inflicting appalling environmental damage will she ever waste her money on.
Her wardrobe uses the traditions of the land and natural materials. Tweed leather and fur.

In 1611 Elizabeth Bathory whose late husband had led the Austro Hungarian army was swindled from her lands, accused of vampirism because the King owed her a great finacial debt and the puritan peasants for who she had provided medical care at her cost rejected her because she was a sexual adventurer. She became a victim of hate because she was a powerful educated and sexual woman. She and her court of handmaids stood accused of witchcraft and vampirism. Her handmaids were burned after being tortured and she imprisoned in a tower without light for three years until she died.

Its all about redistribution of power and money; and in the process tradition is slandered and people abused by witchhunters.
From Elizabeth Bathory to the mighty plains Indians and their buffalo now under wheat and cities and railroad, to Nazi Germany and its creation of health fascism animal rights ideology and the Giant Corporate business with its social "vision" such as pharmacuticals, to the way the bushmen of the kalahari were turfed from their land under the guise of animal protection when the truth was diamonds, to modern urban socialism and its attempts to destroy the backbone of rural Briain under the lame excuse of the Hunt being cruel, to "liberate" it for intensive use, its all about land. Power, control of resources.
In the modern west the corporations that grew in the sixties realised that if you sold something well made it would last a long time and not need replacing. They embarked on a swindle; a campaign to introduce new by slandering old and to exploit the worlds finite resouces without mercy or care. It was easier to sell a thousand things for a dollar than one thing for a thousand dollars. The cheap mass prodcution consumer society was born; quality didn't matter any more: couture was represented by the media as elitist and ridiculous and fur as cruel. Crimplene bri nylon hideous faux fur made from a barrel of oil and vinyl shoes were laughed at but not long before they were rebranded as sportswear and the new generation, kept uneducated, knew no better. Only now are they realising the process has been wasteful; damaging to the environment, and a far grear harm to animals because of the habitat destruction.

Well now its time for a New Traditionalism.

The PonyGurl knows we must return to Haute Couture.
It provides skilled jobs to masterful artisans and keeps traditions and art alive .
The PonyGurl knows we must embrace the wonderful touch of nature as we have done for aeons and whether its native people and traditional fur producing regions of the arctic and sub arctic, or the Scottish crofter to the woolen mill keeping alive the skills and beautiful clothes of centuries gone by, these activities preserve the wilderness and these areas still teem with animals.

And while the castles and architecture of Europe stand testimony to the great visions and skilled crafsmanship of artist architect and artisan of classical and gothic romantic movements, so it shall be again.
The age of mediocrity is coming to an end. You cannot surpress the human spirit for ever; or their natural relationship with the land. The fox used here has been used and traded, prized for its beautiful furs, by sub arctic peoples for forty thousand years. The tweed from the Highlands of Scotland for goodness knows how long. There is no shortage of sheep, no shortage of mink, no shortage of fox. That is not in spite of fur and fashion trade but because of it. Prize something and you look after where it lives, treat it with respect and nurture it.

And now the PonyGurl is the ambassador of this New Traditionalism and she shall wear it with pride; but she shall wear it with attitude and edge too because this war is far from over.

"The fox and mink owe their great success to the prizing of their fur by humans and there wiliness as an adversary in the Hunt. May they survive with us another 40 millenia but we need to remember that as many have forgotten it" David Dent

There shall be no rest until air hostesses wear uniforms from the natural materials of their regions and gentlemen wear bowlers and miners the luxury prized crombie again.

The only synthetic material that PonyGurl will ever accept, and we will introduce it where possible as a sharp reminder of what it IS good for as much as we can, is the shine of latex and pvc. Most women hold on to their thigh boots for example for up to thirty years, yearning for the odd corridor of opportunity to wear them. And they do not end up in landfills like training shoes. Of course, in time we will seek to use patent leather instead where possible.
