"The horse accepts gentleness, he resists harshness, he obeys appropriate strictness."
Major Balasa on classical Baroque dressage.
The Riding Mistress Jacket is a classic Edwardian inspired equstrian jacket but cut in a 1940's style. Because it needs some structure and the support of its own fabric rather than introduce padding and webbing, it is best in this heavier tweed. This allows the freedom of movement necessary should your horse or of course its mistress need to perform a mezzair or courbette.
Note the blue and rust window pane check , the beauiful sage brown and terre verte green brown velvet rouched detail on collar and cuffs.
Perfect for Cheltenham, Badminton, a dressage or sidsaddle event. Or for serving drinks worn with jodphurs and boots if you are hosting The Hunt; or indeed a gentleman requiring firm handling.
Suggested headwear: A little traditional tyrolean hat with game bird feather as suggesed in "Elegance" by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux.
Thankyou Bridie could you spin around please to show the flattering feminine cut on the side and back
Models: Bridie Barnes and Lusitano stallion Venturosa Repoula who originally came from the Portuguese Repoula Stud where they are trained for bullfighting and classical battle dressage including the airs above the ground.
